GAIA SOMASCA HOLISTIC PSYCHOTHERAPY

Supporting the Santa Cruz, Soquel, and San Lorenzo Valley Communities
Searching for therapy in Santa Cruz is like crossing a threshold: turning away from a life that is no longer sustainable and following the call of your inner healer. I meet you here at this threshold as you take your first steps on the path toward vitality and wholeness.
Whether you are seeking therapy locally in Santa Cruz or connecting from elsewhere in California, we can take this journey together to soften the grip of old patterns, restore your vitality, so that you can walk through life with greater ease and resilience.
Three Ways to Work Together
In-Person in my office in Scotts Valley

My physical office is in the serene setting of Scotts Valley, tucked away just 10 minutes north of Santa Cruz. This space offers a sense of quiet and containment—while remaining within easy reach. Conveniently accessible via Highway 17, and just a couple of minutes from the Granite Creek exit, the office serves the communities of Aptos, Soquel, Santa Cruz and the San Lorenzo Valley. Whether you are making the short drive from the coast or local to the Santa Cruz mountains, you will find a cozy, warm space filled with natural light. Right outside the building is a parking lot with free spaces making parking stress-free.
Online Therapy throughout California

For those who prefer the comfort of their own space or live outside of Santa Cruz County, I provide secure online sessions for residents throughout California.

Adjunct: Ecotherapy sessions (Santa Cruz area)

Whether we regularly meet online or in person, we can decide together to meet outdoors for Ecotherapy sessions. Together we can decide on a location – perhaps by the beach, where the edges of the continent meet the vastness of the Pacific Ocean, or among the mighty redwoods.
Cultivating our relationship with nature can foster a deep sense of belonging, allowing nature to “speak” to our deep psyche and mirror our journeys. Just as the coastline of Santa Cruz is shaped by the powerful and persistent rhythm of the waves, our inner landscapes are shaped by the forces impacting our lives. The redwood forests teach us about resilience and being rooted in community, while the expansive ocean horizon reminds us of the vast possibilities that lie within.
In our Ecotherapy sessions, we`ll tend and nurture your relationship with the land, and tune into what the landscape might reveal to you and your journey.

Are You Navigating Life's Storms Alone?
Often, the beginning of healing is having our struggles seen and held with compassion. This space and our relationship within it, are for that recognition. If you find your story reflected in the questions below, please know that you are not alone. The hurt you might seek to soothe can initiate a deeper healing, leading to your growth and transformation. I am here to support you in crossing the threshold and to walk along with you.

Struggling with the Weight of the Past?

Do you feel as though events from your childhood or past relationships cast a long shadow over your present? Trauma and Complex PTSD can create patterns that keep us stuck in ways that recreate the very old pain we are trying to soothe. It can feel like you’re always worried and cannot stop your brain from thinking, or feeling entangled in relationships that make you feel alone and hurt. By giving yourself a different experience through a relationship that is supportive, we trace the path to resolve the impact of trauma preventing you from living with the freedom and ease you long for.
Feeling Overwhelmed by Anxiety and Self-Doubt?

Is your inner world often filled with anxiety, fear, or a harsh inner critic that fuels self-doubt and low self-esteem? These states are deeply connected to patterns of people-pleasing and caretaking, where you put everyone else's needs before your own, leaving you feeling exhausted and disconnected from your authentic self. You might long to speak your truth, only to feel a familiar tightness in your chest or throat that holds you back. Depression may also be present, creating a heaviness that makes even small tasks feel overwhelming.
Navigating Complex Identities and Transitions?
As an immigrant, a multicultural individual, or a member of the LGBTQ+ community, do you struggle with fully accepting and loving yourself? The pain of rejection, abandonment, discrimination, and systemic oppression is real and deeply felt. It takes immense strength to hold onto your truth in the face of these challenges, and it is a journey that deserves to be supported. Life transitions, whether a career change, a move, or a shift in identity, can also bring up feelings of grief, loss, and uncertainty that benefit from compassionate exploration..

Seeking Deeper Meaning in Your Relationships and Life?

Are you facing a significant life transition, grieving a loss, or finding that your relationships feel unsatisfying or fraught with conflict? Sometimes what feels like a crisis is actually an invitation from your psyche — a turning point calling you to discern what needs to heal so you can cultivate a life with more heart, meaning, and authentic connection. And whether you are in a monogamous or polyamorous relationship, couples work can help you navigate these challenges together..
If some of these words resonate, I invite you to envision a path through these challenges where you are no longer walking alone. Our work together can be a partnership in navigating these waters that, like riptides, seem to carry you out at sea. Together, we can find your way back to yourself.
My Approach:
A Collaborative Journey to Your Authentic Self
Therapy is not a rigid, one-size-fits-all process. I see our work as a collaborative exploration, a meaningful journey we embark on together. My role is to serve as a facilitator, while you reconnect with your own inner wisdom and healing capacity. We will walk together at your pace, honoring your unique story and creating a path forward that feels true to you.
A Warm, Compassionate, and Holistic Space

I imagine our therapeutic space as a welcoming cove, where we can gently explore what has washed ashore from the depths of your consciousness. Here, you will be met with a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental presence. My own journey through a deep personal crisis became the turning point that led me to this work, and it informs the profound empathy and non-judgmental respect I hold for your own path.
I believe that healing benefits from a holistic approach. I integrate tending to the wisdom of the body, the stories of the mind, and the longings of the spirit, while honoring the web of relationships we are woven into — both with our human community and the natural world. My approach is grounded in cultural humility and steeped in social justice, acknowledging that the systems we live in deeply impact our well-being.

I have trained deeply in a variety of modalities, and I bring this diverse toolkit to our work so we can find what best supports you. Think of these not as rigid techniques, but as different languages we can use to listen to your inner world and facilitate your healing.
Somatic approaches allow us to gently listen to the wisdom of your body, helping to regulate your nervous system and release stored emotions and trauma held in your tissues. Brainspotting is an approach that help us access and heal the impact of traumatic experiences that can keep you feeling stuck in painful patterns.

Therapeutic Modalities to Support Your Unfolding

I have trained in a variety of modalities, and I bring this diverse toolkit to our work so we can find what best supports you. Think of these not as rigid techniques, but as different languages we can use to listen to your inner world and facilitate your healing.
-
Somatic Approaches: We will gently attune to and listen to the wisdom of your body, returning your nervous system to its full capacity of functioning, and releasing unprocessed emotions held in your tissues.
-
Brainspotting: This approach helps us access and heal the deep roots of trauma that can keep you feeling stuck in painful patterns.
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS) / Parts Work: We will compassionately get to know the different parts of you — the inner taskmasters, the worried parts, the critics, and the inner children — to foster inner harmony and self-leadership.
-
Jungian / Depth Psychology and Dreamwork: We can explore the rich, symbolic world of your dreams and your unconscious to uncover profound insights, guidance, and a deeper sense of meaning.
-
Ecotherapy and Attachment-Focused Work: We will explore your connection to the natural world and your core attachment patterns to restore a fundamental sense of belonging, safety, and security.
-
Equine-Assisted Therapy: In partnership with the intelligence and sensitivity of horses, we can support healing of attachment wounds, building trust, and exploring relational dynamics in a deeply embodied way. (Gilroy location only)

Our work together is about creating this space inside you, so that you are ready to step forward into a new way of being.

Flexible Session Options: In-Person, Online, and Hybrid
I offer several ways to work together, designed to meet you where you are. For those in the Santa Cruz area, in-person sessions are available at my office, providing a dedicated physical space for our work together. Ecotherapy sessions take place in carefully selected natural settings throughout Santa Cruz County, allowing us to incorporate the healing presence of the land into your therapeutic journey.
For clients located anywhere in California, online therapy sessions provide the same depth of connection and therapeutic support from the comfort of your own space. Online sessions can be particularly helpful if you have a busy schedule, prefer the familiarity of your home environment, or live outside the Santa Cruz area.
I also offer a hybrid approach for clients in the San Francisco Bay Area and surrounding regions. This allows us to meet primarily online while incorporating occasional in-person ecotherapy sessions in Santa Cruz County when you are able to travel. This flexibility means you can benefit from both the convenience of online work and the unique healing power of nature-based sessions.

What to Expect When We Work Together
Beginning therapy is a deeply personal decision, and it’s natural to feel uncertain about what the process looks like. My aim is to make this journey feel as safe, clear, and collaborative as possible. You are the expert on your life; I am here to facilitate awareness and the inner shifts you are seeking.
Your First Step: A Complimentary Consultation

We begin with a free 15-20 minute consultation call via phone. This is a gentle conversation for us to connect and see if we are a good fit. I will invite you to share a little about what is bringing you to therapy now — perhaps there is a triggering experience that has led you to reach out — and what you hope might shift through our work together. It’s also a time for you to ask me any questions you may have.

At the conclusion of our call, you can get a sense of whether you feel moved to schedule a first session or prefer to think about it. There is no pressure or obligation.
Our Ongoing Therapeutic Partnership

Should we decide to move forward, our ongoing sessions will be a dedicated space for your healing and growth. In our collaborative partnership, we will explore what works best for you during our sessions. You are always in control of the pace. You might hear me gently ask, "Are you okay in noticing this?" ensuring that together, we always choose the path that feels safest and most supportive for you.
If we come to realize we are not a good fit, I am available to provide referrals so that you can find a therapist who matches your needs, as I am part of a community of talented and supportive professionals.
