GAIA SOMASCA HOLISTIC PSYCHOTHERAPY

My approach to Anxiety therapy begins with a deep, heartfelt acknowledgment of where you are right now. Perhaps you often feel worried about what could go wrong, or the pressure to be perfect. It can feel as if your mind won`t stop showing you all that could go wrong: people`s judgment, concerns about your loved ones, or dangers around the corner. The sense of feeling trapped by worries and at times paralyzed by fears is exhausting; you might even feel as if you want to crawl out of your skin. Recognizing the desire to ease this strain, and quiet these ever-present voices is a yearning for healing and the recovery of your innate strength.

I offer Anxiety therapy that is holistic, collaborative, and deeply compassionate. While together we can explore practices and skills to ease symptoms, we also tend to the deep roots that feed the worries by gently witnessing the experiences that shaped you – the stories your mind remembers and your body shows through sensations. Together we can deeply listen to the memories and flashbacks that fuel the fears, and foster your nervous system’s capacity to shift from hypervigilance to a more grounded quality of presence.

If a challenge has tipped the scales and brought you here, I invite you to imagine our therapy space as a welcoming cove where we, together, explore what the currents are bringing to the shore of your consciousness so that it can be healed. Over time, in our work together, we`ll foster your capacity to shift away from this anxiety-driven state, and into one where the worry voices have gone quieter and you trust your capacity to move through life. Your horizon is clear, and you can live a life with more confidence, clarity and ease.

Through the approaches you`ll read further, healing can be lasting and, as I have seen, life-changing.

My Approach: An Integrated and Client-Centered Journey
Anxiety is a deeply personal and nuanced experience and my therapeutic work is a collaborative, integrated tapestry woven from multiple modalities to honor your unique needs, culture, and lived experiences. Together, we will discover what works best for you, creating a personalized path toward healing that feels safe, supportive, and empowering.

A Welcoming Space for Your Unique Story
While anxiety is a universal human experience, it is profoundly shaped by our individual identities and societal contexts. I am committed to providing culturally sensitive and trauma-informed therapy that honors the complexity of your background. I strive to cultivate a kind and compassionate presence and to examine my privilege as a white, cisgender, able-bodied woman. I believe that understanding the intersections of privilege and oppression is essential to the work of therapy.
I offer a supportive and affirming space for individuals from many walks of life, including:

-
For women: I provide a space to heal from the impacts of systemic oppression, narcissistic abuse, and patterns of people-pleasing or caretaking that can fuel anxiety and diminish self-esteem.
-
For LGBQT+ individuals: I offer an understanding and affirming environment to process the anxiety that stems from discrimination, rejection, invalidation, and the stress of navigating a world that may not honor your identity.
-
For immigrants, bicultural, and multicultural individuals: I am attuned to the complex tapestry of dynamics and challenges you face, and I provide a space to explore the unique anxieties related to identity, belonging, and cultural navigation.
-
For therapists, healers, and high achievers: I recognize the unique pressures and high expectations that can lead to anxiety and burnout, and I support your commitment to deep personal growth and healing work.
My dedication to creating an inclusive practice means I am here to hold space for your story with the respect and understanding it deserves. From this place of mutual respect, we can begin your journey toward healing.

What to Expect: Beginning Your Path to Healing

Once we begin, you can expect a supportive space dedicated to your healing and a collaborative relationship, which I deeply value. Our sessions will be guided by what feels most relevant to you when we meet, allowing our work to unfold at your own pace. If it feels helpful to you, we can explore tools and practices that fit your specific needs and support your growth between sessions.
